Understanding Ntfs Data Recovery
NTFS (New Technology File System) is the standard windows file system management device, which is incorporated with automated data recovery tools. These tools give NTFS an edge over other file system devices like windows FAT (File Allocation Table). The tools aid NTFS data recovery in two ways namely; transaction logging and cluster remapping.

Cluster remapping involves a procedure that prevents data loss by automatically moving data from clusters having bad sectors to clusters with no such problem. While transaction logging which prevents data corruption occurs when the operating system takes any write operation, which updates a file as a transaction. By design transaction logging does not recognize incomplete input or transactions. However, in spite of these wonderful features that NTFS comes with, it can still be corrupted leading to the need for NTFS data recovery with third party participation. This does not mean that the incorporated features here are ineffective because they still make NTFS better than some other file systems since it is less susceptible to corruption and failure like they are.

Data corruption as a result of certain types of hardware failure can occur with NTFS. Also, corruption of the Master Boot Record or boot sector will definitely corrupt your data. Don't get all worked up if you fear you are experiencing this because there is a solution to this problem. When you do an NTFS data recovery of your boot sector where such need arises, you are carrying out a corrective measure. However, a preventive measure you should be aware of to complement this knowledge is having your own configured recovery disk. What I am referring to here is not the one found in the pack of your computer system after you purchased it. No!!! it is different. The recovery disk, which came with your computer if used to install software or applications on your system, will ignore subsequent changes or updates you have made on your computer. Configuring your own will obviously provide you with a better advantage.

Nevertheless, choosing to do this also carries more risk since there is a greater chance things may go wrong before or during installation from your own recovery disk. Therefore, it may be better or should I say safer for you to visit your manufacturer's site for more instructions. This of course is usually the more expensive option.

Please take note that the NTFS data recovery features mentioned here are in regard to a trait known as self-healing NTFS, which is found in more recent versions of Windows like Windows server 2008.
